Two people were hurt in a rollover accident that took place Wednesday in Glendale when a driver ran a red light.
The 20-year-old driver, who was riding a van, was traveling southbound on New York Avenue when he entered Foothill Boulevard on a red light and crashed into a silver car.
Details of the incident were provided by Tahnee Lightfoot, a spokesperson for Glendale police.
Two occupants riding the silver car, a 50-year-old man and his 15-year-old daughter, were reported to be in critical condition and were airlifted to a local hospital.
The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was able to walk away from the crash. He was also cooperating with the police. His mother, Estela Zaldana, was worried about the two injured. “We just pray to God that they are fine,” she said.
It is not yet clear why the driver of the van ran the red light. Police are investigating if it was a mechanical issue or distracted driving.
