On Wednesday, a 17-year-old teenage motorcyclist died after crashing while travelling southbound on the 14 freeway near Palmdale at about 8:30 p.m.
CHP said that he was entering the freeway from Pearblossom Highway at a high rate of speed and collided with a 2001 Audi A8 that was travelling at a speed of 60 mph.
He hit the brakes of his bike to avoid the collision but his motorcycle slid out from under him on its side, striking the right rear of the Audi.
He was pronounced dead at the accident spot.
Investigators are still investigating the reason of the accident. No other individual sustained any injury in the accident.
A sig alert was issued for the Pearblossom onramp at 9:21 p.m. and it opened again at 1:33 a.m.
