CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. – An accident that happened Monday morning involving a scooter crash resulted in the injury of two people.
The incident took place on Sunrise Boulevard at about 3:30 a.m. when the scooter crashed into a media.
According to police reports, the scooter was going northbound when it crossed Antelope Road and ended and going northbound in the southbound lanes. It then crashed into the median, slid about 250 feet before coming to a stop.
As a result of the scooter crash, traffic in Citrus Heights was disrupted. All lanes except one on Sunrise Boulevard were closed on Monday morning as police and CHP investigated the crash. The left turn lane to eastbound Antelope Road was also closed.
All lanes were reopened at 9 am for the Monday morning commute.
2 men, a driver and passenger were injured in the crash. They were both not wearing helmets.
One rider was in critical condition while the other had moderate injuries. The rider who was in critical condition was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
